I remember several years ago there used to be a reference in threads when it happened. Nowadways they happen and it seems people either dont notice it or maybe don't care. Are they dead?

If I had to guess the turning point might have been when displaying time of posts stopped being the default. So people have to do an extra step to see the hour, minutes, and seconds a post was made.
