...No? It has a big Jack Daniel's logo, says Tennessee Whiskey, and has a rather big 7.0% alcohol label at the bottom. If your kid or somebody accidentally grabs it and thinks it's normal Coca-Cola, that's bad parenting, not because of the labeling.

I feel like the Jack Daniels logo should be a bit larger than the Coke logo, but otherwise it gets a "meh" from me.

Seems pretty clear to me. Plus any kid would spit it out.

I get that somewhat, but the "Old No. 7 Brand" part is technically part of that logo, and then underneath that, right above Coca-Cola, it says Tennessee Whiskey. Like, you have to ignore a lot to ONLY see the Coca-Cola logo.

Like any alcoholic beverage, people just need to teach their kids "You don't drink these cans/bottles."

Oh, agreed on the last bit. Just, kids are stupid, and parents can be even more stupid.

Fair enough, and it's cool to see your input.

To me, I feel like a good 70% of the can basically screams "Alcohol," and while the Coca-Cola logo is large, it's still only like, 30% of the can. That said, looking at this kind of thing is not my job, so it's fun to see how that viewpoint differs.

It is clearly obvious. I'm never on Twitter so I only hear about this stupid kind of stuff here thankfully because this is dumb lol.

Oh you're wholly right, but my brain just screams at me to evaluate "Okay, how can someone get sued for this?"

Nah. Little Guide would take it as a challenge.

Jack Daniels and whiskey is prominent on it. If you cant read thats your problem

It does look similar to a coke zero can but they are different enough that it's not misleading.

The "mixed with" is a little too small for my taste.

I mean I assume you'd only find this with the other alcoholic beverages, but if I saw the can out of context, at first glance, I wouldn't be sure if it was an alcoholic mix or just a coke that was "jack daniels" flavored. >_>

I think it's part of a 12-count package like a lot of other sodas, so the package likely has clearer labeling.

cans are cheaper to produce than plastic and glass

oh god the yellow paint people are right. You really do you need stuff like that.

There's an argument to be made that the Coca-Cola logo is a little too prominent and may be misinterpreted or misunderstood by young folks. Maybe scale it back a bit and scale up the TENNESSE WHISKEY MIXED WITH part.

There's also an argument to be made that anybody who is confused about it may have bigger problems in life than labels on objects, like if adults are putting it easily within reach of children.

You haven't heard of Jack and Coke? It's probably the most famous American whiskey cocktail. The two brands just recently partnered for a pre-made version.

Never heard of it. Everyone I know has heard of rum and coke, and some think it's called "roman coke".

Half of the can is a jack daniels logo, this doesnt seem like a problem for anyone that isnt stupid

The top two-thirds of the can is very clearly alcohol-related. I'm all for restrictions on deceptive packaging, but a dude only noticing a black can and taking a swig is on them.

I can see a 3 year old who knows the Coke logo grabbing that out of the fridge and getting fucked up. The ABV is low enough where it probably doesn't taste like a regular Jack & coke. Like those 8% Four locos that taste like soda.

There's enough safeguards to block children before they even see the can.

Caffeine labeling should be much better though, especially with food.

The argument isn't just about people being confused.

It's also that Coca Cola is a brand popular with kids and families so you could argue that alcohol companies are doing this to leverage those brands to sell alcohol that is supposed to be strictly marketed towards adults.

Most Coca Cola commercials show adults drinking it and if a kid is drinking a coke they're drinking it with the rest of their adult family members. It's not a brand that's heavily marketed heavily towards children. Yes coke is very popular with kids but it's not less popular with adults.

It looks good enough for me.

It's not canned whiskey. It's a canned pre-mixed jack & coke cocktail. It's only sold in package stores AFAIK so I don't really see a problem with the labeling. Coca-Cola themselves doesn't even make black cans anymore so seeing this should set off all kinds of red flags even if you were illiterate.

They should make the o's liver shaped

Just saw a four pack of the stuff at a store. It was very clearly in the liquor section right next to the white claw and vodka seltzers.

Is it just that Coca Cola has recently partnered with Jack Daniels? Because I've been seeing canned Jack Daniels + Coke in stores for well over a decade now. Think it's close to 20 years.

Alcohol is best eaten as ice cubes.

if parents are worried about their kids getting into their alcoholic drinks, then they should keep them in a separate fridge or cabinet that the kid can't get to.

the jack daniels + coke isn't even the worst of these spiked drinks. look at the arizona hard cans, they're even closer in appearance to the standard arizona than the jack+coke are to standard coke.

but seriously, even with regular beer or something, there are tons of can designs that would be appealing to kids, so it's best to either teach them that they aren't meant for kids, or keep them somewhere that the kid can't get to it.
