I thought he was canceled

He's gunning on people getting bored and it all blowing over.

The money has now gone to charity so unless Karl or Muta put out a new video to remind people, every day less and less people care that he commited fraud and constantly lied for a decade.

If you're a YouTuber caught up in any sort of scandal or drama pretty much the only thing you can do is just keep making videos as if nothing happened and hope enough of your audience isn't tuned in to YouTube drama to know or care.

It is pretty silly seeing people still trying to have a community shitting on him. It's fine to have a stance of not letting people forget someone's shitty actions, but it is pretty hard to do it in a way that doesn't get cringy over time.

I don't like his videos already, but I don't know anything about any scandal/cancelling. What did he allegedly do?

Basically for a decade, he's been collecting money for his charity for dementia (which he opened in memory of his late mother) and said he was giving the money towards reputable causes the whole time.

Except he wasnt. He was just holding the money in the charity's account for a decade. He didnt donate until it was exposed and he got a fire under his ass from everyone.

Raised over $650,000 for his charity The Open Hand Foundation via fan donations, using his dead mom's name to promote the cause.

Spent years saying the money his fans raised had gone to various charities and organizations. Turns out it didn't and was just sitting a bank account. This was exposed by popular Youtubers Karl Jobst and Mutahar.

From there Jirard's story has changed several times and investigation has raised massive questions and red flags about the money raised not adding up.

At this juncture once exposed the money was very quickly donated and nothing else can be known unless Jiard is audited.

What's clear is that this was shady as fuck and Jiard is a pathalogical liar.

The last video I of his I looked at, basically the entire comment section was filled with hate comments. Is it still like that?

The silly part is people trying to have a thriving, active community based on shitting on someone with no active news coming out. It slowly turns into low quality nonsense once the news dries up due to how everyone really just wants to be involved in internet drama. Once the drama is gone and things die down, it becomes mostly forgotten once the few remaining people decide it's not worth it to keep it up.

I think they mean the ones who keep jumping onto him because they seem more into the drama of it. Like the subreddit that opened after the main one closed, and people just overanalyzed and grasped at straws after there wasn't any new info or videos (i.e. trying to suggest his mom wasn't dead or never had dementia).

Immensely unlikely.

For this to happen there would need to be a civil case. Any civil case raised by random people (I.e donors) would be solved with a small payout.

If an audit leads to a serious investigation and a state or federal case. The result will still likely just be fines. Unless Jiard and his family did some really henious shit no one knows about.

$650,000 is nothing to the IRS, it's small fry and on top of that Jirard hasn't spent the money on a house. It was there sitting in an account and he has now donated it. That's not something you tend to go to prison for.

I don't think he's going to suffer any legal consequences whatsoever.

Don't conflate "He got away with it" as "It's legal."

The biggest thing is that it's hard to tell how much is actually on him and how much is on his father/Brother/Open Hand. He's definitely morally guilty of being a lying and manipulative piece of shit. From there, it depends on where the money trail leads, but it probably won't amount to much legally.

He claims he didnt know about the money not being donated until 2 years ago, but even after he "supposedly" learned about it, he still let it sit for another 2 years before he donated it (and that was after being exposed).

I think he definitely knew about it almost the whole time and just played ignorant until that 2021 interview >_>

Also he said he was going to threaten legal action against Karl & Muta, so if he's still trucking on doing other shit, they're all probably not talking about it as much because it's going through the courts. At least if Completionist thinks he even had a case after his little family run charity scheme that is
