2 months is a pretty damn good time to get it detected, so your odds are good at least.

So it takes until 330pm my time to have somebody let me know that I've been taking the third day of chemo.

That's the first day it starts to hit ya, I guess.

Fellow cancer-goers, when did the treatment give you that first real pop on the shoulder?

Hang in there TC, you got this.

Haven't had cancer myself but my mother went through it twice. Breast cancer and then seven years later, said breast cancer made its way into her spine somehow.

She still kicked its ass twice.

And by whatever deity is listening, so can you!

5th of 30 days of treatment already begun! It will feel more real in a week or so when my hair starts falling out, but I have been told a few times that levels are good, and I have been tolerating treatment very well

I swear to God the hardest part of this so far is putting up with all the beeping lmao.

Maybe it was more from my mindset of when I was a 10 year old. But i remember wanting to continue to do 10 year old things but the body wouldn't allow it due to fatigue. Especially true in the early days of heavy chemo.
It takes a bit to adjust to the new normal per se. If there is a choice between doing something not necessary vs resting, don't worry about choosing resting.

And, spinal taps and bone marrow shots were no fun but I got used to them. Kinda tells you how many I had

I continue to impress those close to me with my stamina, lol. But I see what you mean.

It was a double dose of chemo duty because of some slight delays, and I definitely feel it.

Been trying to be as normal as possible. Gathering a heck of a music collection from NewPipe hehe. And I'm actually expecting a visitor in a couple of hours.

But the longest parts are coming. Only 25% done. Thank you for your candor

Gosh, I hope they don't have to move the pick line. But, the diagnosing doctor came in to tell me this is all going well :3

No, not that either. Wish I had more of the sci-fi stuff haha. It's been pretty boring really. Especially when it gets annoying to speak after the body WAY overcompensates to a goddamn lozenge for the sore throat lol.

Though oddly enough, strange things do happen after the chemo and your hair starts growing back. My mother's hair was a lot thicker and my auntie suddenly had natural curls when hers grew back. Never had them before.

Today was a bad day physically. Mostly because my own damn mother simply cannot stop being my mother.

Basically holding me hostage from visits with my grandma for the prettiest of reasons. Grandma doesn't drive so it's easy to be manipulative like that......

Starting to raise my blood pressure.

And speaking of, I had another big nosebleed that lasted too long that after some serious stop-gap measures we FINALLY got under some control after an hour.

Then the nurses INSISTED I have a shower because the poor staff were gonna be BUSY on Monday.

I was tidy, my nose looked bad because of the gauze, but damnit I had a clean gown! Could it NOT wait until morning for even a sponge bath?

No.

Guess what happens after a nice warm shower opening up pores in my nose? Another FUCKING nosebleed that two different nurses have to deal with while I'm extremely embarrassed in the shower.

And with less than ten minutes before I was expecting two different visits for company who get to watch as the nurses stifle the bleeding desperately a second time.

Definitely spoiled the rest of the night. Hope it was fucking worth it to clear up your schedules by 20 minutes.

16 more days, and my grandma gets to visit next week. I have something to look forward to :)

Getting woken up at night every two hours or so just for me to go 'CACK, yeah that one was a 5 on the pain scale' is quite unsustainable.

I'm not asking for opiates or anything. But we gotta get some adjustments going with dilotid(sp?).

Protip: Lidocaine is the secret ingredient. Really provides that negative pressure feeling that's even making my ear feel better haha.

I still miss my cat very much

My body WANTS to get better, but it seems almost confused as to why it's not. If that makes any sense. Lots of hiccoughing that really irritates the inflammation in the throat :/

But I really am getting better. Just tired today. Mornings are the toughest because you can't even have a warm meal because people are ALWAYS coming in to do vitals or ask questions or draw blood or give you blood. Lame

Afternoons are nice tho :)

Chemo does wreck face in your body. It's basically ripping your defense systems apart and all that nasty stuff.

Any word on whether you'll need immunotherapy after?

Quite likely. I caught this early. But not THAT early. There will be a few visits tk the Oncology center for some standalone treatments for a couple months then once a month afterwards.

Still a bit of a road ahead, but now I know the struggle has a name. I know I what I'm up against. I can keep going, and I didn't hear no fucking bell.

It's not the hair shave that's the surrender.
It's putting on hospital adult diapers.
Protip: Get someone to bring you as much clean underwear as they possibly can.

The surrender is having one nurse try to extract blood from you with a needle in one arm with several blown veins while the other nurse gets perfectly good blood from your pick line.

After having multiple sclerosis for 8 years, diabetes for 3, the MEDICATION for MS destroying my thyroid, and now this?

I don't want an immune system anymore. Mine's no good lol.

But I'm so grateful every day that MS didn't take more from me. I am still here, but I don't know how or why haha
