I didn't realize until after my last class I took that it took a lot out of me. Even if the subject material was stuff that was up my alley (Sociology), it was a 300-level course. It was fucking hard to get an A in that class, but I somehow just managed it by a percentage point. I felt so relieved, especially since I continued by streak of acing classes. I was getting straight As in school for the first time in my life, and felt on top of the world. But that euphoria masked the fact that obtaining that A took a lot out of me (looking back on it, it might have even been light hypomania).

Now, like an idiot, I decided to take another 300-level course this semester. Main reason I did was because my work took away OT, so I needed something to do (and of course they gave OT back one week after class started. FML). Now, before even the hardest part of the course happened I feel so depressed and burned out. I cannot burn the looming dread of the coming work (even if this professor is easier and more chill than my last one, it's still a 300-level course and that syllabus is scary). I think that looking at all the amazing games that are coming out and realizing that I will not have time for them was the trigger that made me see that I'm in over my head here.

I feel like such a failure too, because I am only taking one class per semester. Night school and all that. "It's only one class," the feeling in my mind goes. "How dare you feel so burned out!" Yet, here I am and I do not know what to do.

I haven't been serious about college in years, so I feel like I've forgotten how. How do you guys deal with this shit? Like, I consciously know that I'm psyching myself out here, but at the same time I cannot deny that I feel like a worthless pice of shit who needs to just suck it up and pull through this.

I study alongside full-time work. Thats how I got my masters and how Im currently studying towards my doctorate. For me, the key thing has always been that if I have to prioritise work or study, I consider which one pays the bills.
