Current Events > Anyone else been feeling numb about the situation in the Middle East?

When I say "numb", that doesn't mean I don't care. I mean more along the lines of...there's just so much one can handle. Especially after hearing what happened with the attack on the refugee camp like two weeks ago. I didn't look into it, I just heard about it.

And yes, I'm aware that I'm on the other side of the world, so obviously it doesn't affect me the way it affects those over there. That I know

But I'm still human and sometimes you just feel...powerless? I've stopped keeping up with it. Mainly because I know I can't make an individual difference and wrecking my mental health over hearing these awful things isn't going to help myself or anyone. I'm beyond done at this point.

How have you been feeling about the situation?

i think your average person is numb to things that dont personally affect them
empathy is a luxury tbh
