The title may sound like a joke but Im serious. I post on other forms but CE is easily my main forum. If it dies not only will I lose my connection to everyone on here, theres really no other forum like it. This place is a holdover from the old days of the internet and there are so many quirks unique to it. Its irreplaceable. There are also some great users on here and it can be a great place to talk and hang out. The next step would not be to dig through the internet in search of a forum similar to CE but to start meeting people in real life. Obviously thats easier said than done but on the good side its also easier to avoid and call out toxicity in real life than it is on here. Thats the one downside of CE imo, that you have to sift through the toxic garbage to find the fun and lightheartedness, and to find the good people. But rest assured there are a lot of good people on here and Ill miss you all.

I already post on reddit, but in a select few communities (actually signing up for reddit and limiting the communities I see made reddit so much better BTW). But it will never be like CE, I basically only post reactions there

Honestly I've been thinking about just not comming here altogether recently, the only think keeping me here is that there is some of that lighthearted fun you mentioned and that you can just ignore the toxic/troll topics easily. I left a few discord servers recently where its harder to avoid that stuff, the negativity impacts me more then i thought it did

I come to gamefaqs like once a day to get karma out of habit but I'm nowhere near as active as I was even 5 years ago
So if this site dies I think I'm at a point where I could move on rather easily

You should be meeting people in real life already. If you're waiting on CE to go away to make you do it, then you have some other underlying issue. I'm not really one to talk cause I have difficulty trying to meet people too, though that also means I know what this excuse-making mindset is like.

Im not saying CE stops me from meeting people in real life, this is just my main social outlet and I will need to find a new one if it dies

Your main social outlet shouldn't be online though. Unfortunately that is the reality for a lot of people (including myself), but if you're thinking about changing that, why not do it now?

I mean its because I spend so much time on CE and order sites. If CE dies I would try to explicitly make time for other social activities. And Im thinking about volunteering anyway tbh

Currently: I go about my life normally, if I get bored or want to talk to people, etc., Ill go to a place on the internet like CE

After CE dies: Im bored and want to talk to people, what do I do? Theres nothing on the internet close to what CE once was. Like I said if I want that social connection Im going to have to go out and meet people IRL

Saying youre going to go out and meet people IRL is easier than actually doing it, but thats an issue for another time

A bunch of CEman without girlfriends seething in the corner at CEman with girlfriends/wives

CE is a containment zone. CEmen must be kept out of the public at all costs

I do enjoy in person company. I just dont have a reason because in my personal opinion CE is a good social outlet and I dont have a reason put time aside in my daily schedule to participate in IRL social events. CE dying will definitely change that though.

I still do have a social life outside of CE and the internet you know >_>
