This except swap 1 and 5. I like 1 for a quick playthrough now and then plus nostalgia. 5 I have the compulsion to master all jobs which ends up being a slog. 5 is a much much much better version of 3.

It had so many job classes, it was amazing.

FF4 had the best story.
FF5 had the most addictive grind.
FF6 had the best characters.
FF7 had the best soundtrack.
FF12 had the hottest chicks. Black bunny girl.

I need to play it. I've been playing through the Pixel Remasters and I beat 1-4 already. (Note I already played 6 on Steam but I'm planning to replay it with the PR version)

I finally beat it last year and it's become one of my favorites in the series - the job/battle system is amongst the best and the story is very heartfelt - even if it isn't super serious, it hits the emotional beats when it needs to and doesn't rely on fakeout deaths ahem FFIV

If I had been able to play on SNES rather than with FF Anthologies, I think I would've been way more into it

Yeah I did take the time to master dual-cast on Bartz and Krile but I realized it was pointless for Krile because I intended for her to be Black/Time. Being able to dual-cast holy and curaga probably saved my bacon.

As for Faris and Lenna they were hitting 4k for most of their damage and I wanted coin-toss so I made Faris a samurai

That was a good call. I don't know if they changed it in the pixel remaster but I know at least on GBA dualcast was kind of tedious to grind up but extremely useful once you do (for certain classes at least).

5 is great.

and i never understood the complaints about the story. Its fun. Its more about the characters and their history with events and eachother. The world has fun lore, and Ex Death is someone you really want to beat.

Loved it.
