A little bit, it's a pretty fascinating period of history.

Japan has a fair amount of reenactments of the Sengoku Period is which more or less a civil war

I'd participate in reenactments except the closest group is like three hours away.

Which English civil war? Theres been at least two main ones.

In the 17th century we had the civil wars. (Royalists vs Parliamentarians).

In the 15th century we had the War of the Roses. (York vs Lancaster for the throne).

You know... wear proper uniform, hurl sophisticated insult only, greet each other properly before shooting each other, die in orderly manner, don't litter and so on. Also, afternoon tea break. j/k

No, I mean context wise. at one point England had like five different kingdoms ruling it. With those kingdoms warring with each other be considered civil wars or are we talking about something in more modern history?

English re-enactment is just kicking America's ass for a long time until they just give up because trying to occupy a land across the sea in times when the only cross ocean travel was slow ships was impossible.

Technically the Jacobin rebellions were also Civil Wars since the House of Stuart wasn't fighting for Scottish independence like most think, they were fighting for control of the English throne.

Very good point, and I should have remembered that considering some of my ancestors were Jacobites.

When there were different kingdoms, it wasn't civil war, but wars between nation states.

The English Civil War refers to the conflict between forces loyal to King Charles I, and forces loyal to Parliament, which took place 1642-1651.

Getting rid of the monarchy was never the goal. It took King Charles I escaping, making a deal with the Scottish Covenanters and starting another civil war to have justification to kill the king and it was still an unpopular move that Cromwell had to purge parliament of those supporting to keep the king alive.
