Also as important as that wormhole allegedly was I don't really remember it being used for anything significant.

It was passage for something I forgot. I think the ugly shape shifting people wanting to go through it to conquer whatever quadrant ST headquarters is in then it was destroyed/closed

Oh look yet another one who can't give any reasons on why they think DS9 is the best.

Let me tell you a couple of three things.

1: Relax lol
2: I didn't post my reasons for it because I didn't want to derail the topic.

You have some killer points. I especially agree with 9 through 11. To me, though, I enjoyed the serialization. The war was interesting until it wasn't. Garak, Sisko, Bashir, Dax, Kira are all phenomenal.

I think Worf sucks, but it had the best Klingon politics and arcs, especially Gowron and Martok (Who, to be fair, as acting talent were only matched by Garak's) so they had a lot of heavy lifting in otherwise muddled scripts.

Cardassians were awesome, especially the Obsidian Order.

Pale Moonlight, Beyond the Stars, The Visitor, and especially Duet were just top tier TV. DS9 with its pants on is stronger than anything TNG could muster and I've seen both series multiple times. TNG to me is just space Aesop's Fables with Mary/Gary Stu characters 100% of the time ramrodding babys first philosophy lessons into the viewers. And, to be fair, that was the #1 complaint of Roddenberry in his later years from the showrunners and specifically why DS9 caught fire how it did.

I'll toss in some legitimate DS9 complaints, too. The sexual misconduct is disgusting. The set crew were flaming racists. They butchered three storylines because preemptive viewer polls told them to. They came out to admit they had no actual ending planned for the DW, and the man in charge of the last two seasons was jerking off to the Chosen Sisko/ Kai Win crap 24/7 because he was a religious nut and it's pure cringe. Lastly, Gul Dukat goes from the best villain in ST history to the objective worst in short order and the actor himself hated how he was treated.

CassandraCroft has some good points but no need to get emotional about it. I'm also in the camp that most Trekkies see the series with rose-tinted glasses. Also, while every Trek series has it's share of boring episodes that fail to deliver, DS9 actually has an episode that made me angry, "Time's Orphan".

DS9 does have some good ideas and good character development. The Cardassians are great villians, maybe my favorite in the Trek universe. The Bajorans are interesting in that they have a religous culture in the far future, even if their faith turns out to be rooted in Star Trek's version of "midichlorians".

The Dominion War is great until they tried to end it, as noted. The Breens really needed more screen time, they were kick-ass. Kai Winn was an intriguing villian until the writers tried to tie everything up in the last season, which was already mentioned. And while everyone loves to hate Kai Winn, Gul Dukat was the villian with charasma that everyone secretly roots for. And yes, the last episodes with them together were shockingly out of character and strange to say the least.

Overall, I'd say TNG is superior but I can see why some people like DS9 more when it comes to the chracter development and lore surrounding Bajor/Cardassia.

My personal preference:
TNG > DS9 > TOS > LD > SNW > PIC > VOY > PRO > ENT > TAS > DIS

I can't believe they had 20+ top tier episodes in each of the 7 seasons with the top 10 show ever in the 90s with Deep Space Nine. These days these lazy, cheap channels, streaming services or whatever you call them only have 8-10 episodes per season max
