Yeah it's honestly really stupid. I don't know any game in existence that can hold the userbase they had from day 1. We all have lives, we're not going to be playing games our whole lives.

50% is high. The general stat I've seen is for most games 10% - 20% of people who start it will actually finish it.

this has been true since the advent of gaming

games are in fact not made to be beaten

that is why games that take 40 hours to "get good" are always poorly designed
