Wouldn't this discount... Literally every porn actress? Like, this feels like an argument FOR Winslet, not against. By your logic, once somebody saw an actress's boobs in a single video, it no longer counts beyond that.

What matters should be distribution. A thousand people buying the porno should matter more than one obsessive fan with a thousand watches.

Titantic had a lot of obsessive fans seeing it 5+ times. A lot saw it but compare that to Pam Anderson. How many people saw at least one pic from her many playboy appearances or saw her sex tape or saw one of her films showing her breasts or all the horny teen boys that googled her after seeing an episode of baywatch. Thats a huge number of people and I dont think Kate is pulling in as much of a draw outside the titanic fan base.

Annecdotal from being a teen in the 90s and knowing girls obsessed with this movie. Unlikely to happen again today with how fast things go to streaming. I dont know exact numbers but I wouldnt be surprised if 420 million tickets was under 200 million people. Still a lot but I dont think shes the champ.

My cousin saw that damn movie 10 times i liked it but once was enough even now millenials have a special place for it all these years later

This seems wild to me. Titanic was known as a ridiculously long movie, at the time. So much so that it took up two VHS tapes, when it came out on home media, at the time. I can't imagine enough people saw it more than once in order to cause an over 100% increase in sales. Suggesting ticket sales for Titanic actually amounted to the average person seeing it more than twice seems absolutely crazy, without some kind of proof.

I was in middle school when Titanic came out and many female students at my school would talk about how many times they went to go see it. It was totally a thing.

Repeat business has been key to the movies success What makes a hit become a super hit is some people going three or four times.

It was a different culture then. Movie leaves the theater and it might be a year before you could see it on a premium channel (HBO/Max/Showtime) or rent from Blockbuster. Then itd still be a months longer wait before you could buy it or see it on cable TV. If you loved a movie youd go to theater multiple times because who knows when youd see it again.

lol, my teacher let us see the boobs. She just prefaced it with something like "there's gonna be nudity coming up, but I expect you all to be mature about it!" and then when she flashed her titties, everyone started cheering and yelling lol, and someone yelled "nice jugs!" from the back. I'd say that's subjective. Kate and I are fairly close in age (she's just under a year and a half older than me), and when I went to see Titanic, at 20 years old, I thought she was one of the most beautiful, sexiest women I'd ever seen in my life.

But now it's 2024 (God that still feels odd to say/type), she's 48 (I'll be 47 next month), and to me, she is so much more beautiful now, so much sexier, because not only is she still physically attractive, but she has the confidence of maturity.
