Especially in this economy and all the rising prices, it seems like a lot of people are struggling.

Financial stress is the worst, and we've all been there. Anyway, have you been doing well financially? I dunno, just thought I'd ask.

I can't afford lunch but I haven't been able to afford lunch in a decade so I see no difference.

Also never better. I left home at 15 and was scared of my 30s and 40s so I over thought everything and bought apartments and a house instead of getting a car and learning to drive etc. it paid off and I am thankful to younger me.

I count my blessings >_> I dont have enough saved yet to compete in the housing market, but I do have enough to max my roth ira, invest, and pay my bills comfortably. So beside the housing market, I make 6-digits and it's good right now. I definitely dont miss the days a decade ago when I was barely surviving on a 25k salary and had $12 to my name. That was a pretty stressful time.

I'm doing fine but I'm older and have had more time to establish myself. I live in a cheap cost of living area in the Midwest with a pretty good job for the area and my monthly expenses are quite cheap.

My house is completely paid for as is my vehicle. My total monthly expenses are only like $1500 and that is EVERYTHING. That is my cable/internet/phone, utilities, city water/garbage, food, gas, and taking into account my housing insurance and property taxes. Truthfully I only have about $1,100 a month going out of pocket because I pay my property taxes and house insurance once a year, but if you account for what it would be monthly I live on $1,500 a month.

So honestly I'm doing quite well. No stress at all. To be honest I could retire tomorrow if I was able to have quality health insurance for no cost. That is why I'm still working, not for the money but for the good insurance coverage that doesn't cost me anything.

I have to be careful with wasting money, but we did just buy a house. So I guess we are doing okay.

6 years ago I got into a relationship....

https://gamefaqs.gamespot.com/a/forum/4/435fa62f.jpg

I've had to pull out of savings nearly $75k during the relationship. Assuming it was invested, as I had been doing, I would have had a lot more money than I do now. Not to mention the complete inability to actually save any money as it too often gets spent on shit going on with her that she guilts me into...

....I can't wait to be out of this disaster....

Making more money than I ever have in life and working desperately to pay off all of my personal debt accumulated when I had a bad job and was underpaid living off debt. It won't take long, the issue is not being able to save or afford a home due to not buying one soon enough

Im at the lowest financial situation I've been in 5 to 6 years.

I left a long time job I had because conditions were worsening, ended up having two offers on the table and chose the wrong one. That one took forever to get me working again, but it paid alright and I was recovering, then because of shenanigans that had little to do with me i got fired. Unemployment took 4 months to get any money to me and I'm pretty much riding on that and an enjoyable but relatively low paying job for the time being.

It'll turn around eventually, but I'm trying to build a career on my art anyway so thats the real prize.

Im comfortable enough that I can give away quite large quantities without it impacting my lifestyle at all. Cant complain.

Short of some long lost relative leaving me an absolute fortune, this is about as good as it gets.

Could be better but also not at risk of losing my home or going hungry. Really the best I've been financially my entire life, would just be nice if I could ever afford to retire.
