Served no purpose except to power up your grip, which also serves no purpose since level 1 is more than plenty for anything you'd use ledge climbing for.

But if you wanted to make Raiden do a few hundred pull-ups off edge of Big Shell, you could.

All the weird "wait why the fuck is this even in the game" details are so great lol

It was much faster to drop and catch ledges cuz each one of those was worth 10 pullups

Yeah I thought the same. Although TBF it's been a long time since I played.

I did some googling. Is it maybe tied to getting 100 percent of the dog tags? I see a site that mentions you need to be Grip 2 before the end of the tanker to get them all.

Rember in SOTC you had to kill like 100 of those lizards to get your climbing up so you could climb to the Garden of Eden. And all that was up there was plants that lowered your health.
