I know box office has avatar or box office with inflation has Gone with the wind but these 2 movies created franchises that went on to generate billions upon billions. Star Wars 1 created the whole star wars universe. If that movie fails, we probably dont have the whole franchise

Without iron man, there is no mcu and all of the billion dollar movies it has.

Without either disney plus would be barren

Should've specified that they're successful starters on the title, because there's some movies that follows them that are more successful.

The Gone With the Wind cinematic universe would be interesting. I guess Band of Angels is sort of an unofficial spinoff.

and depending on how big your list of "most" is, i guess you could argue that they are. but they're certainly not the only.

Star Wars yes, Iron Man no

Star Wars pretty much kickstarted the whole major film franchise thing. there would be no MCU, LOTR trilogy, Harry Potter movies, etc... without Star Wars

I guess I should specify "successful". This means money brought to their respective companies. Star wars a new hope was a box office hit but it spawned multiple billion dollar films and a huge universe for tv, movies, games, merchandise
