Fuck man. Never happened to me before. I probably have to get the phone replaced entirely. I was at the gym earlier and somehow it was on the ground while I was doing deadlits and the weights basically just smashed into it. I'm so mad at myself. I'm not this careless.

I could probably got the screen replaced, but I noticed there's a crack across the back camera, so i might as well get a new phone altogether. Maybe I can get a trade in value at att&t or best buy towards another google pixel 7 pro or 8. smh

It's crazy how its worth next to nothing in trade in value when the screen is cracked. Too bad I cracked the back on the camera. ;_;

Never in a way that had any serious consequences. Only time Ive ever done that was like 17 years ago. I had a Motorola i880 (didnt know that until researching just now). It was one of those chirp phones that had a screen inside and on the outside.

I wore my phone on a belt clip back then, as tools were oft to do. And one day at work, I accidentally hit the exterior screen on the corner of a desk and cracked it. The screen still worked, and it was just the exterior screen anyway, so it was a very minor inconvenience.

Yes. Had a Nexus 6 that I dropped probably a hundred times. The screen was cracked but still worked fine. Then one day I was at Hardees with a friend and had it sitting on my leg. It fell two feet or so to the floor, shattered the screen and broke the digitizer, so it was completely unusable.

I have a phone cover and screen protector of course... but it was a direct hit on it. I have no idea how my phone got on the ground. Either it fell out of my pocket or it came out of on top of my backpack, or I really was an idiot and left it near the ground with the weights and had 345lbs of weight toppling and crushing it

I've ruined a few phones due to crack screens. My current one is noticeably cracked but it still works fine.

Happened once to me when I dropped my phone on the leg of my chair at the office. Luckily, it only cracked the glass on the back a bit, but man was I pissed. Luckily, my screen has never been damaged on a phone.

Once with an earlier model of smartphone. But it was too much of a hassle.

So now I just use a phone as mostly a phone and text device, and use a more easily moddable device as my system for actually doing non-phone things.

I can't trust systems I can't manipulate, so why bother going through all the weird hoops to crack them, when I can just crack my computer instead.

Maybe once every three phones. So if I've 15 phones, maybe 2 or 3 of them have a minor crack and maybe 1 or 2 got pretty wrecked.

Yeah, my very first smartphone actually (though by that point it was like 3 years old, so no real loss). I just had a basic Body Glove case, and the rubber around the border had worn away at the bottom-right corner. Well, I dropped it, and of course the bottom-right corner hit the floor first. Not only cracked the screen, but fractured the LCD layer and it began to leak into the rest of the screen.

So when I got my replacement (and eventually the replacement for that one) I bought OtterBox cases. Both of them, I dropped multiple times and the phone was fine.

i slammed my vape pen on my ipad because i lost in clash royale and the whole screen is cracked. i dont have anger issues or anything and never really rage in videogames but that particular loss got me really mad for some reason.

Not that others aren't also, but I've always been extremely careful handling, carrying and where I put my phone.

I've managed to only crack a screen protector, presumably that tumble would have been enough to damage the screen itself it not for the extra layer.

The one I'm using right now is pretty damaged.

I had a moto z (4?) That I broke the screen on three times. The repair was $180 each time

Have a cracked phone right now. As long I can read my texts and still make phone calls it's alright.

You definitely should... I've dropped my phone many times and my case protects it. Screen protector of course for scratches Saves you so much money and headache. And it will increase your trade in value.

I might just get a tempered glass this time for extra protection.

My day sucked today. I spent several hours doing research online and going to best buy back and forth, as well as a repair shop.. The repair shop was initially saying they could fix the screen, but realized that the frame was also dented on the side and said they couldn't fix it indefinitely.

I shouldn't have restarted my phone this morning cause I wasn't able to log back in at all. The touch screen is totally screwed.
I went to Beestbuy as well. I thought I loaded a $500 gift card, but apparently I didn't? And I don't have the card anymore. sigh.

Anyway I just Google Pixel 8 Pro 128GB, but I must get hold off on opening it and get a 256GB one. I don't know if 128GB will last me several years, unless I actively delete photos and videos.

Usually it's the charging slot that goes on me, not the screen.

Sometimes it could be just lint.
