Red Skull's plot is overthrow American democracy by planting a bug in the president's brain and mind-controlling him into turning the nation fascist. Also, Captain America's first girlfriend Bernice is nicknamed Bernie.

A weird coincidence bit of overlap between this and Winter Soldier.

In both movies, there's a defeated enemy who pulls out a pistol and wounds Captain America as he makes his escape. I'm sure it's entirely coincidental. But that is an oddly specific thing to happen in two unrelated Captain America movies.

Yeah, but this is from a 1990 movie. Decades before DeSantis began his bid for the White House.

I apologize to the troops for watching the film on Veteran's Day. Man, that movie was bad.

There's actually a mention in the credits that the footage of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was authorized by his estate. I wonder if they were told upfront that the good reverend-doctor was going to be revealed in-movie to have been assassinated under orders from the Red Skull. Somehow, I get the feeling the context of his inclusion was not made clear to them.

So over the top. It's impressively bad. I love it. I've seen the clip before in reviews, but I still laughed at the top of my lungs watching it as it happened. The Nazi assassin dude's death was pretty cheesy too.
