Depends where. On most GOG games you just download them and store them somewhere safe.

On steam, you have to manually create backups and use the restore features from the steam client. The game also has to be drm free if you're completely offline.

A bad enough flare could knock us back to the 19th century, and depending on how unprepared we are, it could take years for the world to return to how it was. We might have to totally rebuild our entire global infrastructure

It's already happened before. In the actual 19th century. But it only didn't ruin our world because we didn't have anything to ruin yet. We only detected it because it made telegraph machines get wonky for a few days. That was the only technology we had at the time that gets effected. If the same thing happened now, billions of people might die in the chaos of a 21st century society suddenly being forced to live in the 19th.
