On steam, you have to manually create backups and use the restore features from the steam client. We might have to totally rebuild our entire global infrastructure It's already happened before. In the actual 19th century. But it only didn't ruin our world because we didn't have anything to ruin yet. We only detected it because it made telegraph machines get wonky for a few days. That was the only technology we had at the time that gets effected.
