Were the landscapers just Gotham-savvy and figured if the billionaire's adopted kid dug himself up, it was better not to get involved?

I bet it wasn't the first time something like that happened to them, living in a comic book universe. They probably just pretended to not even notice, and stay completely uninvolved

some other super villain in some other part of the world made everyone forget everything at that very moment

Besides batman, who else knows about the existence of jason todd as a person? Let alone care enough to even take a glance at his area of burial? His criminal dad is dead, and even were he alive he'd care less than a stranger

Well Alfred knew of course. I think Babs knew who Jason was also

Oh and Dick would know. He was aware someone else took over the Robin role when he left to become Nightwing

I'd like to think if literally anybody's grave look like someone dug their way out of it from the inside, someone somewhere would be alerted.

But even aside from that, I question Jason Todd just being some dude. Bruce Wayne is extremely famous, his adopted son would also be somewhat famous.

I thought they used the pit to bring him back? Or is that retcon?

I think a cosmic event did it. I don't remember what happened exactly, but some kind of reality altering thing happened which I believe led to several big changes. But the most famous effect was that a dead Jason Todd suddenly found himself awake and alive in a grave

Superboy Prime punched reality so some dead persons came back to life.
Jason woke up in his buried coffin and crawl his way up. His mind was broken, and he was found by Talia al Ghul that put him in a pit to restore him.
Batman had put 3 alarms on the coffin so he would be alerted if somebody tried to tamper with it. They were not designed to work if somebody broke out from the coffin from the inside.
Jason didnt want Bruce to know that he was alive, so he fixed an exact copy of the coffin and made it look like nothing had happened.
Batman would later look at every inch of the coffin and dismantle it 5 times trying to find any clues before it hit him that there had never been a body in it.

It was Superboy Prime punching the main DC universe barrier from outside reality in a hissy fit

That was the animated movie. Guess they wanted ot to be a more self contained story and not involve other characters outside batman.

Made more sense imo too. Ras felt guilty for getting Robin killed so he revived him.

It was a stormy night with rain and thunder.
It happen not long after the coffin was burried, so the earth above it was still disturbed.
The rain turned it muddy, and the only place Jason could have put the earth he moved was downward below him. While he moved away, the muddy earth around the hole started to get inside until it looked like a small sunken area, which is not rare when you have filled a hole in the ground.
So it looked natural the next day when the gravekeeper looked around, so he put on some more earth to flat it out.

When people mention Superboy Prime bringing Jason back to life, theyre talking about an old DC timeline. For the past decade or so in the newer DC timelines, Jason was brought back via the Lazarus Pit.

The Lazarus Pit was always a part of it. Superboy Prime's reality punch brought him back to life, but he had no memory of who he was. Only that his body possessed a certain muscle memory due to all the training he had. He wandered the streets as a homeless amnesiac for a while until he got mugged/stopped a mugging and someone recognized the moves he used as Robin's. They informed Talia al Ghul, she came to pick him up and dumped him into the Lazarus Pit to fully restore him.

Yes, but Superboy Prime isnt a part his resurrection in recent timelines which is what I was referring to.
