FFXII Zodiac

I've already got that, but I liked it and I guess if the Switch version was cheap enough right? tier:
Dark Souls 1
FFX

Might be fun but also be wary of its chequered past tier:
Earthbound
Pokemon Arceus

If I can borrow it for free, I might as well tier:
Person 5
The other Xenoblade games

Progress has come to a screeching halt. The same few recommendations keep coming up. Might have to look into another game genre.

Star Ocean 2R just dropped. Play that.

That's the plan.
It's 6 years after it's come out. Everyone who wanted one probably has one. Should by all means be cheap. Checked the store multiple times last week and the game prices are really alienating too but they've gotta come down eventually.

Visited the store again the other day. 2 visits in 3 days. I was hoping they'd have some different games in since it's a weekend. Predictably, very little changed.

For some reason I thought FFXII Zodiac would be an easy game to find physical. Dark Souls Remastered as well. Even if I do find them, the prices will probably be laughable.

Maybe Xenoblade 1 was the true ending.
And what I'm trying to jumpstart here is the unnecessary sequel.

Okay I'm out of ideas. Every RPG recommendation video is covering the same few games.
Indies are a plunge I'm hesitant to take.
Fortunately there's still over a week to go.

I mean if you're not hung up on graphics, indies can be great. Because they're not throwing millions at cutting edge graphics, there's typically more of a focus on gameplay and concepts. Quite a few indie games have been wild successes because they're just such good games.

That said, there's definitely way more of sheer quantity of them so the average quality is lower for that. It's typically better to rely on word of mouth when it comes to them, if you're worried about spending money and getting a dud.

Yeah word of mouth is an issue now. The people I used to play/talk video games with and I all have different tastes nowadays. Seems inevitable, like you play too much/too long and eventually you get too specific about what you like.

That hurts the longevity too. You're limited to talking with randoms who probably just want to talk about the merits of the story and not say anything fun.
Happened with Shovel Knight. I played it, I think it's fine but after beating 3 of 4 campaigns I still have no real opinions or investment in any of it. Nobody talks about it.
I don't wanna just peruse critically acclaimed games, no escapism in that. Has to be captivating or memorable.

Consulted the only Switch owner I know. He knows nothing about Crosscode.
Watched some gameplay and I don't really get it. Watched a video of a guy talking it up and I'm still neutral. It's probably pretty good, I just don't get excited about video games nowadays.
Apparently there's a demo. That's good.

Do game prices even go down nowadays?
From what I see there's always a re-release or a shortage or scalpers or "No our games never depreciate in value." or digital games just not budging in general keeping things difficult.

If these things came down, it'd be a lot easier to broaden my parameters.

You don't buy Switch games if you're looking for a good deal, unfortunately. There's a reason why I barely buy anything for the dang thing.

I think it's over.
I went round the stores and looked at the Black Friday deals.
They're not good. At all.
