It's not like a movie is taking any resources away from that. BB, despite having the best background lore and overall story they've told (so far imo), has BY FAR the weakest actual "plot" you play through. Some kind of prequel detailing the origins of the healing church or something would be far better than trying to retell the part we play through ourselves. --- Look, I can name a few instances in MY life where I tried to reach mutual understanding and i can TELL you, always faster and easier to just kill em. Lovecraftian horror isn't exactly mainstream, and I don't see Sony making this R rated while giving it the budget it needs. They'd have an easier time adapting God of War.
