I'd be curious about a Zero anime if it pretended X5 was the end of the X series and acted on the original ideas.
It'd have to have corrupt X, Iris and Dr Wily in it at minimum.

No, Castlevania is pretty good throughout. It's just I don't think that would translate well to Mega Man. Not everything needs to be violent and edgy.

I think it's more that the visual style, scriptwriting, and audio mixing aren't a good fit for a Zero series.

That's something you'd want to give to, like, the team at Studio Trigger that did the Cyberpunk anime.
