I don't have any apps on my phone except stock apps. I turned off permissions on everything. I keep "find my phone" disabled. I keep location services disabled. I keep mobile data disabled. I never use those assistance apps like siri, alexa, okay google, etc, those are all disabled. My brother even bought us an amazon echo for a Christmas gift a few years ago and I shoved it into a closet to never see the light of day again.

That is as far as I am willing to go with my paranoia. I know the rabbit hole goes much deeper but whatever.

It doesn't matter whether you're using a VPN or not, your phone is listening to you and maybe the only thing you're obscuring is your ISP and location.

That really only protects you from copyright strikes. You're still sending everything to Google and elsewhere.

Confirm and understand that your phone is still listening to you at that point. Everything you generate is still associated with you.

oh I agree there. Thats why you need a phone that can physically disconnect cameras and mics, like Ive stated earlier. No one strategy is enough. Gotta cover your ass on multiple fronts
