Didn't he switch his residence to Mar a Lago because Florida has a law you can't lose your residence in a bankruptcy? I remember that being a potential reason that was pointed out when he switched his residence.

He legally cannot have residents, himself or otherwise, in Mar a Lago. He's a "guest" officially at his own place.

Honestly I don't know. It's supposed to be a club and not a residence. I just remember that in the news when he changed his residence they said Florida has that law so it could have been a legal strategy to keep it. I am by no means an expert and just throwing out what I remember.

No, it's not considered a bankruptcy. Bankruptcy involves being unable to pay debts. This is just flat out dissolving the company.
