Don't go in expecting them to adapt the storyline of the games. The movie actually follows the books which recently made most of the pre-Security Breach games non-canon, instead saying that they're media propaganda in-universe.

The only good part of the movie was how good the animatronics were. If it was all CG, it fooled me.

Otherwise it was really boring.

The canon is really the only thing that's been keeping the franchise afloat. It was a neat little low budget jumpscare game for streamers when it came out, but it would have died there if not for all the stupid little lore hints, secret golden Freddys, and all those other nonsense that created a fan base of people who love to speculate and theorize.
