Like, the people who adhere to it want Jesus to return, but they don't want all the bad stuff that's supposed to happen before that can come about (i.e. world peace, One World government, the rise of the antichrist etc)

You can't have it both ways.

And then there's the Rapture, in which all True Believers(TM) are magically whisked away before any of that bad stuff, so what's the problem? I don't get why they see it as such a bad thing...

Don't try and combine logic and religion.

it is a logical extension of Christianity

Christians believe that Jesus was born on Christmas because people were being too cruel to one another, so God sent his Son to teach mankind about love and forgiveness. However, some people rejected the teachings of Jesus, so he was crucified

it is logical to believe that people will go astray once again, causing God to send Jesus back to us. Christians do not want the rise of Anti-christ, war, and oppression, but due to the infidels it shall happen again, and then Jesus shall come and the Rapture. If you have faith in God and disillusionment about the infidels, then of course it will go that way

And yes, stuff like "world peace" is very much considered bad by End Times standards

I always took it as they believed it would happen but they hoped to not live to see the day. Ya know already be chillin in heaven when it happens.

I never got why Satan would go along with the end times shit when it's already prophecized that Jesus wins. Maybe don't send your armies to Armageddon bro.

People want to be special. They want to be a part of the most important thing ever, they want to be part of the generation that witnessed the thing that ended it all.

Let's be honest, none of us have ever witnessed anything magical, divine, or supernatural in our lives. We may deceive ourselves and convince ourselves we saw a ghost or aliens... but our physical world has pretty strict rules and there are no gods interacting with our world if they exist at all - which is pretty doubtful to begin with.

So... people are excited to be part of something big, something special, and something that would shut all of those smarty pants non-believers up real good.

I think part of it is people believing that they're living in the most important time in history(or just the end in general). It isn't just religious people, a lot of people say things like they think the world will end before they die, there will be a nuclear apocalypse soon, WW3 and the end times will be soon, etc.

I think it's just this applied to religion. For some reason, everyone since Jesus was alive thought that he would come back/the world would end in their lifetime. It's just apparently something that people naturally think for some reason.

That's not logical at all

What are you talking about? Those that adhere to it only fall in two categories; those who want it to happen because they think they'll get picked up before it happens, and those who don't want it to happen because it'll suck for those left behind.

My main theory for that would be Satan doesn't believe God is all-powerful, and takes this so-called prophecy to be a sign of God's arrogance.
