... ordering at mcdonalds and then they happily go to get their food from the counter.

It's like these people are happy but they are also becoming more and more overweight which will deteriorate their health.

I don't even know if I'm feeling pity or just pure sadness.

The problem is, the people are happy. And you don't want to take happiness away from people.

And then I look at it from a farther point of view, kinda like looking down at the world like its a simulation game. The people going to and paying for fast food itself is kind of sad. They are being profited from and then given this slow "poison'. Its pain to think about it.
