Studios are making more money than ever and dev teams couldn't be smaller and more hostile in their working conditions. Games are being rushed out to stores/digital platforms with bugs, missing features, bad optimization, and an apology note from some higher up at the publisher's behest.

When will we ever see a AAA game in a completed state be released again?

Day 1 patches are fine. Day 1 DLC and micro-transactions is not.

No because even for the games that take their time, there's always something they could tweak or make better and since the internet exists they'll want to.

FF16 was bragging about no day 1 patch and then did it anyways because there was something they wanted to make better. Even in the best case scenarios, they'll do it

I blame you, the reader of this post, preordering and driving the hype trains across the wasteland of the interwebs for the devs simps and shills

I'm okay with, like, accessibility options or obscure bugs being patched, I suppose.

Yet there are still many games with terrible graphics glitches and game-breaking bugs that get released, and devs rush out a day 1 patch instead of going through a thorough quality control process

But there are degrees. XVI had come up with some tweaks and listened to some feedback but it was still perfectly playable without it. Some games basically require a huge Day 1 patch to be playable.
