Pepper. One of them (I want to say Waters but can't remember for certain) singled out 'Lovely Rita' as being a particularly humbling song that was way beyond what PF was capable of producing. They could play their instruments well enough for pop, they were really stronger in the songwriting department and had really good producers clamoring to work for them. Most bands of that era couldn't keep up with a notable prog rock band with some exceptions. The Who eventually got to that point with Pete Townsend being quite the guitarist. Personally I believe the Beatles are seriously over-rated, but not bad and I don't dislike them.
