Didn't even feel the needles when I got them, but somehow a day later it feels like I drove my shoulder into the corner of a wall.

I was the same after my last COVID shot. Ok when I got it, but when I woke up the day after, felt like the needle had gone through my arm into my armpit. (A less just-woke-up explanation was a slightly sore arm and some tender swollen lymph nodes.)

I got both shot at the same time, but in different arms. Which kinda sucked when I wanted to sleep but it hurt to lie on either side.

I didn't get hit as bad as the first three I got, but good lord did it sap any energy out of me. I showed up to work the day after and was exhausted halfway through one of my routine morning tasks...and felt like I was going to collapse. Went home, later in bed all day, ret2go the next day. Sore arm did last a while tho ... Copied to Clipboard!

From what I hear, the soreness is a sign that the vaccine is working correctly. Your immune system is going whole-hog fighting off the "invaders" that just showed up in your muscle tissue (and in the process learning how to combat the real thing), and that immune response is causing a bit of inflammation there as a side-effect. Some over-the-counter pain medication and applying an ice pack to the sore muscles can help relieve the pain some. It's also a good idea to move that arm some to promote blood flow, but not to exercise it too much (such as by lifting heavy objects). ... Copied to Clipboard!

I thought it was the muscles overreacting to the trauma of the shot. --- Rainbow Dashing: "it's just star wars" AutumnEspirit: *kissu* ... Copied to Clipboard!

Getting my flu and covid shots in a few hours. My usual reaction is just a sore arm for a few days and feeling a little icky the day after.
