my apologies if the text is too small, but apparently, Magneto's past as a villain was largely to help sell the X-Men as heroic, so Prof. X's dream could become a reality:

tbh, I haven't read comics in a long time, but I get these recommended stories, and I bet they'll send something along those lines one of these days.

magneto has been a hero many times. He was literally a member of the xmen the last most recent comic I read. Avengers vs Xmen. That was the most recent xmen comic I have read. And he was trying to be the voice of reason when Cyclops was turning into a villain. Which I found ironic

So.... what? Are they now saying Magneto was never a villain? They are changing history?

They're saying everything evil magneto did was to setup Xavier and the X-Men for sucess so humans sees them as equals

It's dumb. Most comic book stories are dumb at this point. They've gone on for too long.

But on the other hand he literally did call his group the Brotherhood of Evil Murants so it does explain that lol

Charles should be considered a villain.

There should be a point when starting a new story line in comics where the whole team sits down and asks themselves "is this stupid?" and if anyone at all answers yes, they have to put that series in ice for few years while someone thinks of something good to do with them.

Does Magneto still have the holocaust backstory? If so wouldn't he be in his late 80s or 90s by now?

Or does he also no longer age on top of his magnet powers?

With how many recons have been done just about everyone in Marvel is a villain at this point aside from maybe a handful that the writers have not gotten to yet.

Its pretty garbage nowadays. Right now they have something going on where all the mutants are getting slaughtered by sinister and of course theyll be brought back to life
