My copy's pretty old by now and I just had to fight with the save feature a bit, but I think I have it working.
I'm still looking for Pokemon White 2. Can't find it. Playing the other games in the meantime.

My teams on these games are pretty boring. It's usually Venusaur, Pidgeot, Snorlax and some HM drones. Venusaur is a lock but I'd like to try some different Pokemon along the way.
I've been meaning to actually train and use the Lapras they give you in Silph Co. Not sure what else.

I'm up for that considering I never use it.
The move variety doesn't look great but Thunder Wave at lv8 and Thunderbolt at lv26 is nice.

My team is usually Venusaur, Spearow, Flareon, Machamp, Nidoqueen, and Alazakam.
Which I guess is kind of generic aside from my choice to use Spearow over Pidgeotto, queen over king, and Flareon.

Have you ever tried one of the Hitmons? I used Hitmonchan for the first time a few weeks ago and it was pretty good. My team was Charizard, Cloyster, Jolteon, Hitmonchan, Vileplume and Golem. Not the best team, but all of those except Charizard I had never used before and it was pretty fun.

Ekans
Drowsee
Voltorb
Krabby

A team that's fairly modest. Nothing great, nothing super awful. Voltorb or Ekans might be the worst here.

I picked up Mankey and Spearow on the same route.
I'm staying there a while because I realised this is a lot of easy speed/attack EVs early. Getting them both to at least lv10.

Can't do trade evos.

In HGSS about a month ago I used Hitmontop. In Colosseum they hand you one at like lv38 so I use that too.
The first two Hitmons though, haven't really tried. Hitmonchan seems like the obvious choice considering elemental punches.

Both are pretty good. In Fire Red, I'd say Lee is a bit better. Chan's elemental punches are special attack in nature, and its special attack is garbage. Chan would be much better in HGSS because of the split.

Right, I keep selectively remembering and forgetting that.
Gen 4 online play is my mental default setting for Pokemon.
If Mankey/Primeape isn't cutting it, I'll try a Hitmon next.

Yeah, I ended up going with Brick Break, Mach Punch, Strength, and Ice Punch on my Hitmonchan. I only kept Ice Punch because I though it might at least be a little useful against Dragonite. It wasn't lol. I mainly went Chan over Lee because of Mach Punch and a lot of Lee's better moves have sub-100 Accuracy. If I did use Lee I'd probably go Brick Break, Strength, Earthquake and... Here's what's going on.

-Bulbasaur, Spearow and Mankey are leading the way.
-I caught 4 Pikachus and kept the one with the +speed nature.
-I spent a while training Caterpie and Weedle until they were fully evolved because I remembered this game wants you to actually catch Pokemon before Oak's helpers will give you certain items.
-I looked up the in-game trades. They're all stuff I wouldn't typically use but the extra EXP for using a traded Pokemon is tempting.
-Mt Moon's coming up. Nidoking/Nidoqueen is tempting but also after a while in Gen 4, people started using Clefable, so maybe that? Geodude and Paras are meh, Golbat/Crobat is something I use way too much to be interesting.

Whichever starter of your choice
Kangaskhan

Poliwrath
Aerodactyl
Eggexecutor.

Interesting team of Pokemon who don't see tons of recommendations especially in team formats

I haven't found a wild female Nidoran yet, but I've traded a male Nidoran for one. The exp boost from being traded is really tempting.
I also caught a lv31 Dugtrio in the cave and being 6 levels higher than the previous strongest teammate is also really tempting.

Abra's in the day care because it says there's a trade for a Jynx and while I would like to see if that's any good, I don't want to switch trade a 1 move Abra.

I'm doing things in a strange order. I finished Silph Co, then the grass gym, then caught Snorlax and am now on Cycling Road with a lv40 on my team. I usually go to Fushia City before Silph Co and beat the grass gym as soon as I reach Celadon.

Anyway this is going decently.
-Venusaur (The legend)
-Raichu (Uses one move but it's Thunderbolt so it's actually pulling its weight. Great considering the rival having a Charizard means he's stuck with three flying types now.)
-Primeape (Good for normal types, Magnemites are free EXP. Still only has Karate Chop. Rock Slide almost one-shotted Charizard.
-Vaporeon (Might be the MVP. Seemed like the obvious choice considering Jolteon's gimmick is already taken by Raichu and Flareon has that glitch where it's Flareon. Water Pulse, Aurora Beam and Sp.Atk Bite + being naturally defensive is really great.)
-Fearow (Falling behind. Has Fly and Pursuit which aren't incredible. I don't see it getting a lot of good moves. I really want something that can learn Fly though so until a replacement comes along it can stay. Swept the grass gym with it and only realised too late that I'd probably poisoned it with Sp.Atk EVs.)
-Obligatory HM slot (It's a shame this has to happen. I actually have a Lapras in the PC that might be able to join the water type power trip with Vaporeon if not for this.

They really spoil you for choice with water types in this.
Vaporeon's doing great. Lapras is on standby. I could get a Poliwrath to replace Primeape. Starmie learns Thunderbolt and Psychic. Tentacruel's bulky and easy to find. Gyarados is so good he's on the blacklist.

Meanwhile fire's like Ninetails (Yeah whatever.) Flareon (I have chortles.) Arcanine (I don't know what this Pokemon does in Gen 3.) Magmar (I think this is a version exclusive.) Rapidash (Don't know what this does either.)

Fearow's really losing my favor so Aerodactyl's looking more likely. Which is a shame because I got a Rhyhorn and there'd be some overlap between them.

It's over for Fearow.
The fossil guy gave me an adamant Aerodactyl. Easy to EV train because the first few routes are all attack and speed. It's gen 3 so Ancientpower is physical.
Fearow was already lagging behind but it just can't compete with this thing.

-Heracross is here representing gen 2. His job is to befriend the gen 1 Pokemon in this gen 3 game and foster relations between generations. He is very important.

Team members of various functions and attributes.
