I mean, it made sense at a time when internet was still fairly new, you had a website that was likely to attract a lot of minors, & COPPA was still a fresh factor in the management of an online community.

These days, no one particularly cares about the online activity of children, unless it's confirmed they're a minor or run into a predator. Otherwise, we leave them to whatever they may discover in the depths of social media & Youtube.

It wasn't just curse words you couldnt say gay or autism in titles for years. Only recently could autism be said in title. You still get a trigger warning when posting it though.
