I'm 34 a week from today.

Did it at night in jeans on purpose to handicap myself. Started just bouncing it but I was able to run around with it, alternate hands and made one shot after some failed attempts. Didn't keep going because I didn't want to be too noisy for the neighbors. It's a small court outside my condo.

Get some basketball shorts, they are cheap. Stick with it though, good exercise and fun.

I used to play ball for hours every day after work in my early 20s. This was often after baseball practice, which followed 8hrs of labour work

That's awesome. Basketball is probably the most fun team sport you can practice by yourself. Make sure you check out just some Basketball 101 videos online to learn what how to practice. You'll get better a lot faster if you take the time to learn HOW to get better. The faster you get better, the more enjoyment you'll get out of it!
