I have never owned one but it is pretty easy. We have several stores here in Sacramento that have them.

PC renders Xbox utterly pointless and solves this problem, so win win.

PC is an open platform, so you have Steam, then you have outfits selling Steam keys like Amazon, GreenManGaming, Fanatical, GamesPlanet, etc., so theyre constantly having sales and competing with one another.

Then theres Humble Bundle, that has different bundles every month, that are basically pennies on the dollar.

Only reason why digital games didn't really go down in price is because people are still willing to pay.

I only play single player games and only connect to my hotspot to be online to get achievements. My online gaming days pretty much stopped after Gears of War 1 died out.

if you dont have home internet, why are you buying digital games on a console at all? Taking your system to a friends house is not feasible on a regular basis.

Interesting. Maybe something like a Steam Deck (or cheap 3rd party equivalent) would be a good investment since you can easily take it to wherever you have WiFi.

Not completely true. Wal-Mart, GameStop, etc. would also throw shit fits if they were just being drastically undercut on digital sales and likely refuse to stock systems and games, or stock less. This puts pressure on Microsoft and Sony to keep digital at the same price as physical assuming they were inclined not to do that.

This. Its not going to be as good as an XBX or PS5, but it has the portability and gets you into the Steam ecosystem, which will save you a ton of money, so you can eventually get a proper PC and not have to buy the games again.

Gog has amazing sales.

The prices aren't bad when an actual sale is going on. But I will agree that it's kind of ridiculous how long it takes for the standard price of digital games to go down.

Just spend a few hundred bucks on a pc and you can play it for 20 bucks cheaper.

On the plus side you will be able to play a bunch of games for free and save some money in the long run.. umm of course im only talking about free legal games (abandonware) on archive.org and other sites.. or the free games available on epic game store and itch.io

So no home internet, offline only gaming, and posts on gamefaqs. Is gfaqs the only reason you use the internet at all TC? Also I cant imagine a pc, with a small monitor + mouse keyboard taking up so much space if your console(s) and monitor exist on the same platform. Just put the pc next to the platform and M+KB on the same desk.

I use the internet for mainly wrestling news, music news and general news. I watch Youtube too. My console is on my dresser next to my TV that is a 55inch.

I assume these console companies slow push to become digital-only is to take the stores like Gamestop and Wal-mart out of the equation entirely.

My tin-foil hat is in the wash but it was likely the industry's whole plan from the beginning. The cost-cutting would be from preventing used game sales.

I think I paid $3.50 for a digital copy of SOTN.
