...about that student that was run over....iirc the police union that represents him was kinda defending him, saying that his offensive comments were more understandable if you look at it from the context that they were given.....Most of the comments that i read below those news stories did say that they were very offensive no matter what context those offensive comments were given, though. Another thing, we easily could have never heard about this story. A police employee was looking at police video about the crash and saw and heard the offensive comments and turned him in.

Reminds me of when in (IIRC) the 1990s, cops in Houston were caught over the radio and in other official communications referring to "NHI" for certain victims and suspects. An investigation revealed the term meant "no human involved". Imagine that mindset pulling you over.
