Not necessarily your top 5 favorite games (although they can be the same), but which games influenced your taste in gaming the most. Which games do you look back on as games that started it all or opened your eyes to a new genre, etc.

GTA3 - Mostly realistic open world sandbox with driving and free roaming, everything I didn't know I wanted in a game at the time, and still what I look for today. It's just a shame so few devs are competent at making this kind of game.
LoZ: OoT - This is probably the game that made me a gamer. I had played Pokemon and Mario 64 & SNES before, but OoT was my first gaming obsession. The first game that I would rather stay inside and play over going outside with friends.
CoD4 - My introduction to [large scale] online multiplayer, also one of the greatest FPS of all time IMO.
Skyrim - Unrivaled freedom and wonder, far from perfect, but it set the standard for my taste in fantasy RPGs.
Ark: Survival Evolved - This game was my first significant encounter with the survival genre, taming and caring for mounts/pets, building a base, a world that doesn't pause (and continues to change) when you log out, exploring and looking for new creatures to tame, and the social aspect of seeing other players and bases in the world, etc.

Honorable mention to Thief 2 for showing me how fun and addictive stealth and - to a lesser extent - horror is. I waited for so many years for a followup to Thief Deadly Shadows, but Skyrim filled that void nicely. The Thief reboot was a terrible disappointment.
