N64 kids like me didn't have a moment like this until the licker jumped through the two way mirror in the interrogation room.

My brother and I were shook for 20 minutes after that. Had to take a sanity break. I downed like 7 of these babies as a coping mechanism after that:

Well thanks. You basically ruined my day. Thats the one where you have half your health and the hellhound can one shot you right?
Yup

Quite a roadblock by From placed on the path to Queen of Yharnam and summoning help didn't make it easier because the bosses gained more health and the help spawned in with 1/4 HP

The Bloodborne board still has all those old topics that are fun to read through

Balteus pre nerf (AC6) was the hardest boss in franchise history. Ibis could and still be legitimately cheesed despite it looking to be even harder pre nerf if that was even a nerf.

The mission "Eliminate Raven" in Armored Core 2 Another Age (1 vs 3 ACs and not a cheese way beat all 3 effectively)

The final mission of Armored Core For Answer (Old King path), it's slightly easier than the mission above with the right setups.

NInja Gaiden 6-2

This was my first thought instantly. I played the hell out of that game for a couple years as a kid. That, TMNT, and Blaster Master took up a chunk of my youth.

I got to where I could run through Ninja Gaiden perfectly without even hardly taking damage until it came to 6-2. That level for me was always challenging. Once I made it through though I had no issues with 6-3 or the final boss. It was all about 6-2.

Balteus was only even remotely hard because you just dont have anything then. On NG+ or when you go back for S-ranks, absolute joke.

Hardest thing in the game IMO was S-rank on Intercept the Redguns. That was a bitch even with all parts.

Any Fighting game- The part where you decide to turn the system on or not

I was gonna say, to get into fighting games in the online age is a different beast. Sure, no one's gonna actually fight you for normal throwing them 5 times in a row, but if you started back in the arcade, you and most others shared a phase of gradual adjustment.

Nowadays, we get the info, the tech, the raw numbers beamed directly into our fucking brains while the game is barely a week old. To be new to this experience, not knowing that going online in a fighting game is very different from going online in FPS or MMO, is to get your ass handed to you before you realize the second round is already over. You have to put serious, actual effort at getting better to even play online casually. It is understandable to experience this, compare it to another, more standard online experience, and think "I can have an enjoyable degree of success and blame other people over -there-, why would I stay over -here-?"

It takes a sort of purity of drive to stick with it. That real "git gud" itch.

This is kind of me, but I never pick a main either, I use most everybody, and that makes it worse.

Same here. Gets boring playing the same character all the time. It's easier to name characters I don't play.

Exactly. I think the last one I played seriously was KOF XIII. Ive been thinking about getting SF6 because if the story mode and MK1 for the story, but I feel like in a year the Super Ultra Mega Hyper Super Duper Edition will be out lmao.
