Really simply job today of demoting an old domain controller.
repadmin /replsummary and everything is golden. dcdiag and everything is golden. Demote the server and everything shits the bed. None of the other DCs have picked up it being demoted so fucking around trying to clean up the metadata \ DNS \ sites + services by hand. Why you do this MS? I thought about going into the sys admin side of IT years ago, but I decided against it. I like the networking side of things more, even if a lot of people default to blaming the network for everything.

Promoting and demoting DCs is one of those things that's rather simple until it chooses to not work. Then it's a shit show.
