ive been unemployed for a month and a half and my masochistic tendencies of looking for stupid shit people say online has led me to spending more time on reddit which is a place i previously really only used to talk about a niche baseball management simulator i play. so reddit is great for that. but man i joined r/criterion, r/truefilm, r/letterboxd just because i like movies and those seem popular and might avoid normie stuff.... but all i see are people using a lot of words to try and sound smart about some criterion classic that has been discussed to death over the years or say boilerplate shit about extremely popular movies made after 2000. i also get rec'd lots of other subs like classic film, classic hollywood, moviecritic, movies, boutiquebluray, and so forth and god none of this shit is interesting either.

oh i also joined the r/letterboxd discord for like three days before having to leave because it was like bullshit just being funneled directly into my eyes, ears, nose, and mouth.

i just want to find some kind of message board setting where people are talking about cool movie shit
