I agree with this, in theory, which is why I asked for more info. That said, so far, the information that has been available does not suggest that there was some kind of medical emergency, or that she wanted an abortion sooner and couldn't get it. It just sounds like she decided, at week 29, that she didn't want the child, almost out of the blue. That's the thing I have a problem with. If more details dispute this, I would happily read them.

Oh, I don't disagree at all. I don't seek to add further restrictions because of one or two bad apples. My posts in this topic have mainly been concerned with this specific subject.

As Asherlee said, the only restriction on abortion should be what licensed doctors deem in conversations between them and their patients. The government should be practically invisible on all medical decisions. They need to defer to their betters.

Anything else is interfering in something people have no right to and doing solely so for political reasons and control, than any care for human life.

No. A scared teenager forced by a shitty law into the worst possible moment of her life. What she did with the fetus is irrelevant. If not for shitty laws and a medical system that could provide for young women she could have had the support to do this without incident.

Pro-choice means pro-choice.

Less than 1% of abortions are in the third trimester and almost all of those are medically necessary.

They want you to get outraged at the edge cases inside the edge cases, so that you become more receptive to further abortion restrictions. They don't care about viable births or babies at all. They just hate women and want to further reduce them to subhuman scum, little more than walking incubators.

A subpoena is nothing new, so I'm not sure why that was thrown into the article.

Asher, do you know the difference between elective and non-elective procedures? Do you think an elective ban is the same as a total ban?

All laws restricting abortion access are unjust, misogynist, and harmful to society, period. Coming up with stupid hypotheticals like what if a lady decides she wants an abortion because her nail polish from her new manicure doesnt match the hospital gowns? to try to justify them is childish and transparent.
