I do not understand where the energy, or drive come from if you aren't truly DESPERATE for better.

Like how the fuck do you retain any of that shit? Working 30-40+ hours plus commute and then doing college or whatever on top? That barely even leaves time to do basic household/hygeine shit let alone have hobbies.

I did it. My I was motivated from hating the shit out of my job. They paid me too much to quit and find similar pay without a degree, so if I was going to justify quiting I needed a degree to help me find something better.

it's hard. i'm doing it again now in my 30s but i mostly just did 2 classes at a time while working full time and i've had to call off work to finish homework and study and stuff.

first time in college at 18 i was working like 40 hours a week(was part time but they always had me picking up hours). and college full time. 14 credit hours most of it. did great except for my first semester i really slacked off but still passed everything. only did mandatory homework and pulled a lot of all nighters studying and writing essays. weekends i'd work day shift and then party all night. even during the week i'd go party all night and then end up leaving there to go to school. i have no idea how i managed it. guess just way easier to retain stuff that long and good at BSing my way through stuff.

I did it for about two and a half years when I wanted to change careers.

Part of it was spreading the workload out enough that I wasn't trying to do too much at once. That first semester I just did 6 credit hours then after I did 9 credit hours during regular semesters and took one class during each of the two summers in that time.

That said, it was a still a lot of work. I tried to make time to go out to a movie or something when I could, but I didn't go on any vacations during that time and I didn't watch much TV or play many video games.

I did it because I wasn't happy with the career I had and I had researched my options beforehand and felt very certain that I would be a lot happier with the new career I wanted to go into, which it turns out I am. I never would have been able to handle it all if it was just something I was doing on a whim and not something I was dedicated to seeing through.
