My PS3 controller battery says it's at 2 bars, even though it's always plugged in to the charger. What do I do to fix this?

Go back in time to the creation of the PS3 and tell them to use external batteries instead. That battery in there will not last forever.

Could I go to a game store and ask them to do it for me? Do you know if game stores replace PS3 controller batteries? I got a game store to replace some of the batteries for my SNES games, so maybe?

Replacing the battery yourself is pretty easy tbh and you should be able to find decent batteries online for around $15-25. PS4 controllers also work on PS3s though you need to do the pairing procedure every time you power the console off and on again.

probably like a ubreakifix or whatever that place is called if there's one around but they seem like they overcharge. i know someone that went there to get a charging port replaced on the xbox. dunno if it was series s or x but they charge $200 for it. like i know it's soldered in but still seems like double what it should cost. the part is like $10-15 online. then probably take someone experienced like 10 minutes to replace it.

so they might end up charging you more than the price of just buying a used ps3 controller online. just look up how to replace the battery on youtube.

This controller cost $60 off of Amazon, and I got it 2 weeks ago.

I'm surprised anyone still has a working PS3 controller. Those mini USB ports were fragile.

Alright, just called my local game store. They said they think they replace PS3 controller batteries, but their tech is away until after the 25th.

You can order another battery off Amazon for $13. Just flip the controller over, take out the 5 screws and the battery will be right there. Unplug it, plug in new battery, you're done. It'll take you 5 minutes.

Yea, I'd recommend watching a youtube video on the process first before paying someone. It could be a lot easier than you think.
