Lack of compression.

I wouldn't be surprised if the newest one coming out is on 2 disc's like FF7 Rebirth will be tbh. It feels like they enjoy having some of the biggest games out there.

Compressing is some of the last thing you do on your game.
Im pretty sure that they can compress it more if they want, but once it fit on a disc it is kinda a waste of their time to compress it more...

Has nothing to do with being good. Odds are they're very skilled at their work. No, it's that they do what they're told to do.

I remember hearing talk that they did it back in the day to deliberately muscle out other games. You want to play CoD at all, you've got less room for the distractions of other games on your hardware. Less of a problem on PCs but for consoles with more limited space concerns (especially for casual users)...

Up to you if you believe that or think it's hatemongering.
