GTA IV was better. Heh wow time sure flies.

That's crazy. It honestly feels like a few years ago when I booted the game up on my PS3 on release day.
Had to walk all the way to the nearby Wal-Mart and they only had a few copies left.

I was really impressed with how good that came looked on PS3 hardware. They really squeezed a lot out of those systems before porting over to the new ones roughly a year later.

I like V a bit more but I really liked lV too.

I never got the hate for GTA lV. I got it at launch it was one of the greatest games I had ever played up until that point.

You are funny, GTA bore was one of the least interesting games I have ever played. No customization for cars, few weapons, lack of fun missions, and the worst physics for driving.

GTA V has been around way to long but it is a much better game then 4 was.

I remember REALLY hating IV a long time ago. Particularly the gunplay and the driving. Everything elsecharacters, story, writing, etc.I really liked, but the shooting and the driving was enough to make me rage quit it.
I played it again for the first time in a long time last year and actually finished it. The shooting and driving still isn't very good, imo, but I ended up liking it more than I did all those years ago.

But yeah, GTAV pretty much blew it out of the water in every way possible though. Love that game. Kind of want to playthrough it again at some point.

For me, I enjoyed GTA IV on release, but my opinion only soured over time. I am of the opinion that the driving was much more fun in Vice City and San Andreas. They also removed a lot of features from SA to IV. I dont like overly realistic games like IV tried to be.

I do like IV better, but I can see the general gameplay flow being more fun and video gamey in V. Where IV it would take itself too seriously a lot of times.

I just liked the story of Niko and of course Roman, my cousin wanna go bowling?

Honestly if I boot up my Xbone it's usually to play a few missions in GTAV online.

I'll buy an series X when GTA6/Elder Scrolls comes out.

Its a preference thing. I vastly prefer more arcadey, wacky driving and physics that the PS2 games had. IVs driving just felt like a massive chore.

The gunplay in 4 was solid. The driving was based in more realism too. I didn't play a lot of San Andreas, but in III and Vice City the gunplay is hilariously bad even with their autoaim it would just not work right at times and I'd be doing these weird gunfights shooting over my shoulder while trying to run into some cover and just wind up missing my shots mostly and dying.

The cars felt like it worked on a + axes. Turn right the right corner would dip a lot not like in the real world where it is very small

i'm literally replaying GTA IV right now. the driving is atrocious. it's impossible to stop a car without sliding in every direction. people fumble around in front of cars, next to cars. turning is ridiculous. it's like the brakes don't work on any car, at all, and everything is destined to glide much further than it needs to.

it's a complete mix of 3 and V, but it's the worst part of both systems. the aiming, too, is just nasty. everything about IV just plays like shit, honestly. the story and characters are a huge upgrade from 3 but nowhere near lifelike as in V. really IV just misses on every level.

V was not my favorite game, but having a PS3 and PS4 it became the only playable game to go forward with. There was a lot to admire to the detail of work

The thing I didn't like about IV is that I played it on a PS3 and didn't know how to turn off six axis controls for flying the helicopters. Remember six axis? One game used it properly and well.

I have played GTA IV again recently in the early parts and eh ya just can't go full speed and expect to pull off any turns without sliding everywhere.
