On the one hand, everyone is talking about SoS. On the other, CE is $10 less.

I'd get them both.

If you can only afford one, I'd just flip a coin. Both games are amazing and I can't really put one above the other.

SoS will go on sale with the next big steam seasonal probably.

SoS is on gamepass and PS plus

Haven't played CE yet but I'm getting a huge hit of nostalgia, but also genuinely good writing and gameplay from SoS

Almost done with Sea of Stars now, and Chained Echoes is quite a bit better all around. SoS is still really good for what it is though.

Bro, you absolutely must get both if you love those kinds of retro SNES RPGs. If you must choose between one or the other, then play through Chained Echoes first.

Not really a matter of not being able to afford them. Just that I don't have a lot of time for gaming between life/family/work so there's not really a point in me getting two RPGs that are going to take me dozens of hours to complete. I'll never finish both before sometime else catches my attention.
