It's honestly as close to perfect a game could be for me.

Yeah there's a bit of padding but I never minded it. Loved the atmosphere and music of Twilight Town and the Doopliss mystery leads to a lot of memorable moments, like when the party is discussing the adventure up that point and shadow Mario can just casually talk to them + disguised Doop.

It's such a good fucking game. BP only fah LYFE

Yea, and Aside from a higher difficulty setting maybe I'm hoping for balance adjustments for the party. Sure everyone is usable but the gap between baby yoshi, goombella and everyone else is massive.

Isnt that the game yall hated? Or maybe Im thinking of a different Paper Mario

Some people liked Super Paper Mario (Wii game that came out after TTYD) and though that one definitely wasn't for everyone it still is a great game. Just not as good as TTYD. I haven't played Origami King but I know for sure Color Splash and Sticker Star both range from mediocre to outright bad.

Origami King at least didn't make it detrimental to get into fights. You still had to buy your attacks, but the attack items lasted for multiple uses and were worth the money since finishing a fight on your first turn would get you enough bonus money by itself to pay for them, never mind the base money for the fight.

Also the writing was muuuuuuuch better than Sticker Star where all the humor went into the flavor text for the "things".

I think my problem is I'm a little too old to get as excited for a remake of TYD. I was just old enough that it doesn't feel as long ago I played it; don't get me wrong, I loved the game. It's a good thing that more people are going to get to play a really good Mario RPG. I just feel I wasn't quite young enough for that love to crystalize into a nostalgia that makes me hyped to rebuy the same game, especially since I can still play the old one.

Now Super Mario RPG Seven Stars on the other hand, I was enough of a kid that I'm hyped for rebuying that game even though I can still play it. >_> So I'm hardly unbiased, see, it just has that extra little spice of having played it as a kid.
