Honestly? Respect for this. The organization is a good thing, and he realized the move he did was stupid and would impact the org, so he stepped away. Good move, after all of the bad moves he made prior. This makes it more believable that the move he did regarding Masterson was just a dumb, personal driven move without much thought behind it.

They've targeted a lot of consenting adults, and that shouldn't be okay. Yeah. Dude is an asshole. You can't say you care about stopping child sex abuse, and then support a rapist after his conviction. Honestly, it throws fuel onto the fire I've had burning of "celebrities actually only give a shit about themselves and only do good things to be praised for doing good things." Also, I wouldn't be shocked if the rest of the board told him "you can go the nice quiet way, or we can drag out your public shaming by loudly throwing you out. Your choice." I wouldn't give him a pass, but there comes a point where you can't continue to drag a guy through the mud.
It wasn't much an apology but a come-clean "I fucked up" and this adds to it. He's not redeeming himself, but it's pretty much a gesture of him perhaps folding in hopes there's enough done said to leave him be.
