I respect all three Democratic presidents we've had in my life, even if just for the fact that they did / are doing the best they can under the political circumstances surrounding them. Of course, there's things I don't like about each. Obama didn't always seem to put much thought before authorizing drone strikes. Clinton put his dick before the interests of the country and could have brought on political turmoil if he hadn't been so lucky (it's more the recklessness while serving the highest position than what he actually did, not to say I have any sympathy for him with that cause either). Biden has done the least for which I can actually blame him. He can't help what happens to the brain as you age and he is actually doing pretty well mentally for his age, all considering.

I remember being genuinely pleasantly surprised when he was elected (I honestly thought the US wouldn't take such a step). It seemed like a corner had been turned and there was hope for the future.

I wasn't old enough to remember Bush Sr., any thoughts about Clinton just brings up Monica Lewinsky and jazz, Bush Jr was a joke, Obama seemed chill and connected other than the love of droning everything, tldr how Trump is shit tier as both a person and president, and Biden feels like living through Weekend at Bernie's but there haven't really been serious fuckups that he is directly responsible for I think

So for me it's Obama > Clinton > Biden >>>>>> Bush Jr >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Trump

I was in HS and college though most of Clinton's presidency, so my view may be skewed, but I felt (other than some race relations stuff) the country was in a pretty decent place during his tenure as President.

Voting for him in 2020 is no different than the rest imo because you saw how his 4 years played out and legitimately thought to yourself that it was a good idea reelect him.

Carter has dignity. He is too good for the office. If there was a Republican in office instead of him, we probably would have reneged on our agreement to give the Canal to Panama.

This is a weird take to see on here. Probably not too weird for the country, but definitely weird for this site.

I honestly have yet to hear any argument that actually holds water of how Biden's handled his position poorly, especially in comparison the four years prior. What do you mean to look at how the last four years have played out? I can't think of what has gone wrong over the past four years other than the past administration's Supreme Court appointees continuing to undermine years and years of civil rights work. Anything negative I can think of stems from the shit show we had running the country from 2017-2020. Then think about how much more fucked up shit would Biden if he weren't president. Here, we find the world is even more fucked because not only are we still out the Paris Agreement, but we show no sign of reversing course and likely no other developed country feels any extra incentive to put in any more effort than they are now. If you really think we'd be better off right now if Trump was still president, you epitomize to me how American selfishness is a leading cause for fucking up the world for future generations.

Edit: Realizing this was probably referring to people who voted for Trump in 2020 rather than those who voted Biden in 2020 or plan to vote Biden in 2024. So that was probably a lot of hot air for nothing haha. Still depressing though that there are people out there that would like to act like we are regressing from where we were under Trump.

I'll be fair here, Obama 's expansion of drone use to commit assassinations of dubious legality under international law was not exactly America's finest hour.

Overall my assessment of Obama would be centrist (for the US) technocrat.

Not to say he wasn't infinitely preferable to what came next of course.
