If you strike/kill them when they are talking at the beginning of the match, that's dishonorable. I do remember killing some fools 20-30 times in a row with the same move, a charging pierce to the torso/heart but then I had to adjust my strategy as that move didn't work anymore and it got really intense. Does getting hit or dying lose me the ending, as well as breaking Bushido? All of these, except one, are FALSE. Only the last one is true. However, I believe to have identified what likely caused this misconception: it's the _timing_ of when the Bushido violation message triggers. The message can only appear after the first cavern fight onwards (or second cave fight, if you go for the secret ending). If you violated the bushido by attacking anyone during his/her intro even BEFORE that fight, even if you perfectly follow all the rules of the fake list established above for this fight, you will still get the bushido violation message after that. Likewise, attack anyone in a later fight before he/she finishes the intro, and you will surely get the message after the fight is over with with your victory. This means people who violated this one rule beforehand (whether they noticed it or not), then got the message later, quite possibly thought they had done something wrong only in the last fight, thus leading to all the fake Bushido rumors. But if you respect their intros? You will _never_ get it. I managed to unlock all the characters' secret ending easily and all in a row by simply rushing to their backs and backstabbing them with a triangle Nodachi (big katana) running attack (vertical slash). No Bushido violation screen whatsoever, tested on all 3 versions of the game (JP, US, EU). The game doesn't care. The game's Bushido system in story mode also doesn't care.
